Proposed Constitutional Amendment:
All foreign governments shall be recognized in accordance with
the citizens they truly represent.
When it comes to foreign relations, the US government is a whore;
we'll
make any deal with anyone at any time to further our own agendas.
This
proposed amendment is just one step towards putting our government and
our nation on a more ethical footing when dealing with the rest of the
world.
The amendment means that, if we're meeting a dignitary that was duly
elected by the popular vote of all the citizens of his country, then he
is considered by the United States to be the representative of all the
citizens of his country. If he was duly elected by the popular
vote of his country but women weren't allowed to vote, then he is
considered by the United States to be the representative of all the men
in his country, but he cannot speak for the women. If he's a
dictator, he is considered to be a representative of himself only; it's
unlikely the US government would meet with him at all since he is
unimportant and cannot speak on behalf of any other citizens of his
country.
Foreign governments change, so at least one caveat must be added:
If a foreign government ceases to represent its people, all
treaties and agreements with that government shall be considered null
and void.
You can't hold popular elections, make all sorts of deals with the US,
and then disband your Parliament and declare marshal law and expect
those deals to remain in effect.
