I'm a man, but that won't stop me from suggesting a
product for
women. A barrette is a clip used to hold a woman's hair back, or
up, or whatever. They are very common -- and they are very cheap
and ugly as a rule. They are sold as accessories alongside
brushes and combs, and cost only a buck or two. They're usually
really poorly made, flaking, peeling, rusting or falling apart
quickly. Presumably you're just supposed to buy new ones and
throw the old ones away.
They should be sold in jewelry stores, made of gold and
emblazoned
with gemstones. I'd buy a nice one for my wife if I could find
one. But no man in his right mind would buy one of the typical
barrettes on the market as a gift for a woman; they're all cheap
junk. That would probably be a good litmus test for the type of
barrette I have in mind: if it's conceivable that a man would buy it
for the love of his life as a gift, it's the type product I'm talking
about.
